<p>PURPOSE:To provide an optical coupler which can electrically connect and optically couple a photodetector directly under a light emitting element and in which a bump connection is eliminated. CONSTITUTION:An optical coupler comprises a light emitting element 11 having an electrode 14 on a rear surface, a photodetector 12 having an electrode 15 and a photodetecting part 16 on a front surface in such a manner that the electrode 15 is covered with an electrode pad 17, the electrode 14 of the element 11 is electrically connected to the pad 17 of the photodetector 12 and the element 11 is optically coupled to the photodetector 12, wherein the pad 17 of the photodetector 12 and the part 16 are disposed corresponding to the rear surface of the element 11. The electrode 14 of the element 11 is formed as a partial electrode, and the rear surface of the element 11 is connected to the front surface of the photodetector 12 via conductive adhesive 13 containing conductive substance and light permeable substance having larger shape than that of the conductive substance.</p> |
