The system for producing foam in milk or milk drinks comprises a stirrer (12) on a shaft (11) which is driven by an electric motor. This can be lowered into a cup (13) and moved further down as the liquid level sinks when foam is produced. An Independent claim is included for a cappuccino machine fitted with the system.
