BRIDGE UNIT OF SNMP AGENT AND UPNP CONTROL DEVICE, AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A bridge unit of an SNMP agent and an UPnP control device, and a method therefor are provided to monitor or control SNMP agents through a UPnP control device at home without using an extra SNMP manager. CONSTITUTION: A data input/output module(500) interfaces with a UPnP CP(Universal Plug and Play Control Point) and an SNMP agent by a preliminarily set data transfer unit. An agent detecting module(510) detects a preliminarily defined and transmitted specific SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) agent identifier from a management object stream transmitted from the UPnP CP through the data input/output module(500). An MIB managing module(520) searches an MIB(Management Information Base) tree for the corresponding management object of the SNMP agent corresponding to the detected SNMP agent identifier. An MIB storing module(530) stores the MIB tree where the corresponding management object is recorded by SNMP agents. A protocol conversion module(540) converts the corresponding management object of the specific SNMP agent into an attribute tag form which is preliminarily defined. An SCPD(Service Control Protocol Definition) message generating module(550) records the converted attribute tag on a specific tag of an SCPD matched with the management object, and outputs the converted attribute tag to the UPnP CP through the data input/output module(500).
