PURPOSE: A drum washing machine and an operation control method thereof are provided to reduce rinsing hours and washing water by rinsing at the first predetermined speed with decreasing dehydration speed, and to extend the life span by preventing wear and damage against eccentricity with restricting vibration and noise. CONSTITUTION: A drum washing machine comprises a casing; a tub horizontally arranged in the casing; a drum rotating inside the tub; a drum driving motor(41) rotating the drum; a feed valve(57) opening and closing a water supply pipe for feeding water to the tub; and a control unit(61) controlling the drum driving motor to rotate the drum at the first predetermined speed of 200 - 500 rpm higher than the transient speed increasing vibration of the drum in decelerating the drum, and controlling the feed valve to supply washing water for rinsing to the tub. The control unit connects to an eccentricity detecting unit(53), a timer(55) and a water level sensor(51), and controls washing, draining, rinsing and spinning efficiently by detecting the eccentricity of the drum, counting rinsing time and measuring the water level of the tub.
