The fire switch (1) for fitting in air ducts (9) has at least one temperature sensor, an evaluating circuit, and means for the controlling of fire and smoke doors (7) or ducting. The fire switch additionally has a gas sensor for the registering of fire gases. The gas sensor has a gas generator which is controlled by the evaluating circuit and therefore enables a self-test. The gas generator is integrated with the gas sensor in a common housing. The fire switch has a sensitivity tracking for the gas sensor.
