PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation probability of poor forming of flatness, size deviation or the like of the positioning reference part by suppressing deterioration of the balance of the glass temperature between formation part of the positioning reference part and its periphery in molding a glass funnel for an cathode-ray tube were a thick wall part is formed. SOLUTION: In the constitution provided with a first region 11 to form the thick wall part formed at the periphery of a wide opening end 2 of a funnel body part 5 and a second region 12 to form the thin wall part formed adjacent to the narrow opening end side, the reference plane 10a of the positioning reference part 10 is formed at the outer side face 11a of the first region 11 so as to be confined within the range of 1.5 mm or less in the outer side direction and of 2 mm or less in the inner side direction from the first region 11 from the maximum visible outline 7.
