A gauze-like fabric (2) comprises of numerous intersecting threads (2a,2b) and rows and columns of spaced apart nodes (7) ensuring horizontal and vertical spacings between plate-like members e.g. tiles (5). The nodes are located at the intersections of some threads. An Independent claim is also included for a method for mounting plate-like members.
