PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential which can respond to the request of cost reduction. SOLUTION: The pinion shaft 19 has the following constitution. The direction from the outside to the inside of a straight pinion shaft 20 formed in a rod shape is made as the depth direction. A fitting recessed part 21 provided with the planar bottom face at the axial center is formed at the central part in the axial direction along in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction. The bottom faces 21a at the fitting recessed parts 21 of the two straight pinion shafts 20 are arranged oppositely each other.
