PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inexpensively obtaining copper powder of a high utilization value by using waste generated in a working process of a copper clad laminate whose efficient recycling has been difficult heretofore and treating the same by a specified method. SOLUTION: The method of producing copper powder is provided with a stage where the cut scrap, machined scrap or coarsely crushed material of a copper clad laminate is subjected to crushing treatment by a stone mill type grinding device to obtain a crushed material. The method is preferably provided with a stage where the crushed material is subjected to sedimentation treatment in a liquid as well. The above copper powder is obtained by employing a simple process using waste as the raw material, and can be made extremely inexpensive. The waste of the copper clad laminate which has been subjected to incineration treatment and reclamation treatment heretofore can be recycled as copper components and components other than copper, so that the waste can be reduced and the cost required for the treatment of the waste can be reduced as well.
