PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block noise reducing device that can reduce block noises in a digital television broadcast receiver, by monitoring the color difference component data Y, Cb, Cr data or color component data R, G, B to detect the block noises. SOLUTION: This block noise reducing device has a discriminator 13 to check whether the value of a plurality of attribute data constituting the image pixel data lie within the tolerable range by inputting a plurality of image pixels forming the generated reproduced image signals in a decoder 5. It also has a correction means 12, which recognizes the image pixel data as the block noises, when the discriminator 13 discriminates that various kinds of the above attribute data lie outside the tolerable range and acts to reduce them.
