PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating roller causing no distortion in a heated object even in a great temperature difference between the heated object and itself, a drying device equipped with the heating roller, and a drying method. SOLUTION: The heating roller has a static friction coefficientμbetween a roller surface and the heated object satisfied with an expression t+V≤G, G=μ×σ<SB>A1</SB>=μ×t×sin(θ/2), the drying device is equipped with the heating roller, and the drying method uses the heating roller. Herein, t is tensile force applied to the heated object, G is the holding force of the heating roller when holding the heated object with frictional force, V is thermal expansion force generated by the thermal expansion of the heated object held by the heating roller,σ<SB>A1</SB>is thrust given from the heated object to the surface of the heating roller by the tensile force applied to the heated object, andθis a lapping angle of lapping the heated object on the heating roller.
