PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cartridge in which propriety of use can be judged when a magnetic tape cartridge is dropped. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape cartridge JK is provided with an impact detecting element 30 which can be confirmed visually from the outside. The detecting element 30 is provided with a first container 1 having at least one opening part, liquid 2 filled in the first container 1, and a second container 5 in which the first container 1 is fixed inside and a diffusion layer 6 is formed at an internal wall plane.
