STEM CUTTING APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR SELECTING SHRED TOBACCO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stem cutting apparatus effective for reusing the stem mixed in shred tobacco as shred tobacco. SOLUTION: The stem cutting apparatus is provided with a separator to draw out stems satisfying a prescribed condition from the residue left after selecting good shred tobacco from supplied coarse shred tobacco subjected to expansion/drying process and a rotary cutter to shred the stem separated by the separator to form shred stem. The separator is composed of the 1st winnower to extract good shred tobacco from the residue and extract stems having a length shorter than a prescribed length from the residue and the 2nd winnower to separate the good shred tobacco extracted by the 1st winnower from the stems having a length shorter than the prescribed length.
