Model-based service life monitor comprises the following modules: module for determining the system loading from available instrumentation, especially motor vehicle instrumentation, and processing of sensor signals to determine loading behavior; module for determining component loading and loading behavior and; a calculation module for determining the remaining service life of components from the measured accumulated component damage and operating strength analyses.
