PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an output of an inappropriate image when an object present in a photo-taking range is not exchanged with a different object normally, in a document camera for presentation, etc. SOLUTION: A digital camera 10 is so constituted that an object-mounting space set at a relatively short distance is set in the photo-taking range, and that the object mounted in the object-mounting space is taken to output image data. An object state detection part 122 detects a state of the object in the photo-taking range based on an image of low resolution continuously obtained at a high frame rate. An overall control part 120 takes an outputting image when coming to rest of the object in the photo-taking range is detected, to output the image, and controls to make the image outputting continue while the object stays in the photo-taking range.
