PURPOSE: Provided are an organic electrolyte which allows battery to have improved reliability and effectively improved swelling at initial charging and charging/discharging, and a lithium battery applying the same. CONSTITUTION: The organic electrolyte comprising lithium salt and organic solvent, is characterized by comprising a phosphonate compound represented by formula 1. In the formula 1, each of R1 and R2 is independently substituted or unsubstituted C1-C20 alkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C20 alkoxy group, substituted or unsubstituted C2-C20 alkenyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C30 aryl group, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C30 arylalkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C30 aryloxy group, substituted or unsubstituted C2-C30 heteroaryl group, substituted or unsubstituted C2-C30 heteroarylalkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C2-C30 heteroaryloxy group, substituted or unsubstituted C5-C20 cycloalkyl group, and substituted or unsubstituted C2-C20 heterocycloalkyl group, and each of C3 and R4 is independently hydrogen, substituted C1-C20 alkyl group or unsubstituted C1-C20 alkyl group. |
