<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display in which a plurality of observers can see different information in one display. <P>SOLUTION: A double view display is composed of a display device, a parallax optical instrument and a controller. The display device comprises first pixels and second pixels arranged in rows and columns, with the first and second pixels are alternately arranged in the rows and columns. The parallax optical instrument comprises parallax elements arranged in rows and columns. The parallax element guides the light from both of the first and second pixels to first and second display regions by cooperating with at least one of the first pixels and at least one of the second pixels in the same row as the at least one of the first pixels and adjacent to the at least one of the first pixels. Each raw of the parallax elements is off-set in the row direction by half the pitch of the elements in the row direction.
