PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which there is no danger of overheating of a heater and of which the repair work is not troublesome even when a controlling means to control heater temperature has a breakdown. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal display element 23, a heater 47 to keep the liquid crystal display element 23 warm and the controlling means 51 to control the temperature of the heater 47. The controlling means 51 is provided with a current limiting element 54 of which the resistance value increases corresponding to temperature elevation and which restricts an electric current to be supplied to the heater 47. A temperature detecting means 56 detects temperature of the liquid crystal display element 23. The controlling means 51 makes the heater 47 be turned on and off based on temperature data outputted from the temperature detecting means 56. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
