<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imager using a micro magnetic substance capable of nuclear magnetic resonance imaging in a micro-region in the micron order by generating a large magnetic field gradient having in-plane uniformity by the micro magnetic substance installed in a strong magnetic field. <P>SOLUTION:<SP>29</SP>Si 2 is arranged in a chain shape on a terrace 1 of<SP>28</SP>Si, and the magnetic field gradient in the 1T/μm order is applied in the arrangement direction of the silicon. Since the difference of about 12 kHz is thereby generated in the nuclear magnetic resonance frequency of each silicon, operation or read-out of a spin (quantum bit) of the individual silicon is enabled by changing an excitation frequency. Though the signal from one spin is feeble, an output signal is ensemble-averaged and detection becomes possible, by manufacturing a plurality of silicon chains, applying thereto the completely same magnetic field gradient, and performing the completely same operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
