<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating an interaction between proteins, to provide a recording medium carrying a program for estimating the same, to provide an estimating unit carrying the recording medium, and to provide the protein obtained by the same. <P>SOLUTION: This method for estimating the interaction between the proteins comprises (1) degrading an amino acid sequence of a protein A into an oligopeptide having a specified length, (2) retrieving another protein C having the oligopeptide, or the other protein D having the other oligopeptide homologous to the oligopeptide, from a protein data base, (3) conducting local alignment of the protein A with the retrieved protein C, or with the protein D, and (4) estimating the retrieved protein C, or the protein D, to be a protein B having the interaction with the protein A, by using numerical values calculated based on a result of the local alignment and frequency of the amino acid obtained from the protein data base or frequency of the oligopeptide as parameters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
