PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for continuous hot dip metal coating capable of preventing the occurrence of defective quality (plating defects) attributable to molten metal vapor generated in a snout at low cost. SOLUTION: In the method for continuous hot dip metal coating for performing hot dip metal coating by continuously heat-treating a metal strip in a continuous heat treatment furnace then introducing the heat-treated metal strip into a plating tank, a seal part having a sectional shape in which the distance to the metal strip is gradually decreased once and then, increased toward the metal strip passing direction is provided on a snout wall part facing each of upper and lower surfaces of the metal strip in the snout provided between the continuous heat treatment furnace and the plating tank, the metal strip is passed in a non-contact manner with the seal part, and gas in the snout is discharged below the seal part.
