PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling structure and a coupling method for a packaging film, which can enhance working efficiency by enabling the bag making operation and filling operation of an automatic filling and packaging machine to be continuously and smoothly performed without being suspended, even if a longitudinal/lateral heat seal is applied to the joining part of the packaging film. SOLUTION: In the coupling structure and the coupling method for the packaging film, an adhesive tape 4 for coupling both the packaging films 1 and 1' together is stuck on a joining end 1a of one packaging film 1, composed of a synthetic resin film, and a joining end 1a' of the other packaging film 1'; the joining ends 1a and 1a' are obliquely formed along a width direction; and inside layers of the joining ends 1a and 1a', where the adhesive tape 4 is laminated, are heat-sealed together. Even if the longitudinal/lateral heat seal is applied to the joining parts of the packaging film, the bag making operation and filling operation of the automatic filling and packaging machine can be continuously and efficiently performed without being suspended.
