COATED WASH-FREE RICE AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain coated wash-free rice in which rice-washing operation in cooking can be saved by using wash-free rice as a raw material and the shelf life is prolonged by coating of wash-free rice and distribution to health of consumers can be promoted by adding various kinds of userul ingredients by utilizing the coating.

SOLUTION: The coated wash free-rice is obtained by applying a coating agent consisting mainly of gum arabic to whole total surface layer of a previously processed wash-free rice. One or more kinds of substances selected from a group consisting of iron (Fe), vitamin E and GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid) are preferably added to the coating agent.
