<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assisting device capable of minimizing a load on a driver operating a steering wheel. <P>SOLUTION: In a state of an electric power steering mode (step S2), a vehicle is in a stopped state at a predetermined position in a parking space. When a start switch for supporting the parking is turned on and the driver does not operate the steering wheel (steps S3-S5), the mode becomes a steering wheel rotation mode and an actuator automatically turns the steering wheel (step S6), and the actuator stops when the turning angle becomes a target turning angle (steps S7 and S8). When the driver simply moves the vehicle backward while finely adjusting the angle of the steering wheel from the state, the vehicle can be guided to the parking space.
