PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caster of a simple structure capable of reducing a load on an operation lever. SOLUTION: The load on a stopper member 54 is transmitted from a stay member 50 to a body 12 while a wheel 18 is afloat and a surface contact portion 62 of the stopper member 54 is brought into surface contact with a rolling surface 64. Therefore, the load on the stopper member 54 is not applied to a shaft 30 passed through a shaft hole 44A of the operation lever 36. The strength of the operation lever 36 may be sufficient for the operation, the operation lever 36 and the shaft 30 can be miniaturized accordingly, and a caster 10 itself can be miniaturized. Further, by constituting a link mechanism as an operation means, the structure of the caster is simplified, the number of parts is reduced, the assembly man-hours are reduced, and the cost is also reduced.
