A pneumatic suspension for a commercial vehicle has the axle supported on the centre of a hollow support frame (12) comprising two identical hollow pressings (11, 12) joined by edge welding. The axle is secured to two metal plates fitted to the top and bottom of the hollow frame and linked by bolts. The ends of the hollow frame are shaped to provide bottom mountings for two suspension elements (10) which are set equidistant from the axle.
