PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus mounted with a collapsible lens barrel capable of photographing a moving picture and a still picture with sound at the same time. SOLUTION: In the case that a photographing mode selection dial 53 selects a moving picture photographing mode 53e at interruption of power, when a power button 37 of a DSC 53 is closed, the imaging apparatus thrusts the collapsible lens barrel 1 to transit to a photographing preparation state and the imaging apparatus automatically starts photographing in the moving picture photographing mode.
