PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily read and edit data in a portable terminal in short period of time by information equipment such as a personal computer and by the other portable terminal. SOLUTION: The portable terminal 1 having data recording memories 11 to 15, a card insertion port 1A and an access means (input/output device 12) from the card insertion port 1A to the memories 11 to 15 is connected to the personal computer 2 (or other portable apparatus 1) by using a cable 3 where cards 3A are disposed at both ends. Various pieces of setting data, picture data, music data, text data and telephone book data in the portable terminal 1 can directly be read and edited from the personal computer (or other portable terminal 1).
