PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating plant having inexpensively improved refrigerating performance. SOLUTION: A water side heat exchanger 1, a screw compressor 2, an air side heat exchanger 3 and an expansion valve 4 are connected together in sequence via a refrigerant pipe. The refrigerating plant comprises a current sensor 12 for detecting a current in one of three phase power lines connected to the screw compressor 2 and a pressure sensor 19 for detecting a pressure value for gas discharged by the screw compressor 2. When the value detected by the current sensor 12 is larger than a preset value A and the value detected by the pressure sensor 19 is a preset value C or larger, a control device 14 instructs a capacity control device 17 to reduce the capacity of the screw compressor 2. Since the capacity of the screw compressor is controlled in accordance with a supply current value and a discharged gas pressure value, the relatively lower precision current sensor 12 is required for detecting the supply current value, resulting in the inexpensive refrigerating plant.
