PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sock solving such problems that wrinkles caused at the boundary part between a body part and an instep part make a sock appear unseemly, and torsion at q heel part makes a wearer feel uncomfortable because a cylindrical knitted fabric (hose) comprising a semifinished product of a sock is knitted straightly downward to be pendent so that only the heel part is projected in a bag like state (heel pocket) and its body part and foot part are linearly formed. SOLUTION: The sock is made through the following process using a specific hosiery knitting machine: feeding yarns to one port of a yarn feeder; forming an intermediate course between a foot part ground 6 comprising the base knitting of a foot part L and a body part ground 5 comprising the base knitting of a body part E into an intarsia pattern structure 7 by the same knitting method as that for the heel part through normal and reverse half-rotation of a cylinder; making a line 8 appearing at a joint between intarsia patterns and the base knitting fabric at the intarsia pattern structure 7 join to each other so as to extend to the instep part; and making the body part E and the foot part L curve at desired angles by regulating the length of the gore line 8.
