PURPOSE: A method for driving a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) in flat display device is provided to reduce power consumption by reducing an output frequency of a data driver. CONSTITUTION: Whenever each scan line is selected, PWM driving waves of a low voltage start and a high voltage start are applied alternatively. During t1 to t2 period, an n-th scan line(Scan #N) is selected. A (N+1)-th scan line(Scan #N+1) is selected during t3 to t4 period. During t5 to t6 period, a (N+2)-th scan line(Scan #N+2) is selected. A (N+3)-th scan line(Scan #N+3) is selected during t7 to t8 period. The PWM driving wave maintains a low voltage at t1. Also, the PWM driving wave maintains a high voltage at t3, a low voltage at t5, and a high voltage at t7. At t1, t3, t5, and t7, a scan line is selected.
