<p>PURPOSE: An image information decoding system and method are provided to synchronize streams without depending on a difference among frame rates of the streams. CONSTITUTION: An image information decoding system includes a segmentation unit for segmenting a plurality of image compression information items, a decoder(13a,13b,13c) for decoding the segmented image compression information items and extracting output time information indicating the time when video data obtained by decoding is output, a memory(14a,14b,14c) for storing the video data and the output time information, and a reference time information generator(16) for generating reference time information. The image information decoding system further includes an output image selector(17) for comparing the reference time information with the output time information and writing information for selecting a region storing video data having output time closest to the reference time among video data having output time information previous to the reference time information, and a display(15) for extracting video data from the selected region in response to the selection information written in the memory and displaying the video data in synchronization with the reference time.</p> |
