PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for displaying the remaining quantity of foods in a refrigerator are provided to confirm a change in the remaining quantity of food by displaying the remaining quantity of the food to a user. CONSTITUTION: Plural weight detecting sensors(12) detect the weight of foods stored in each shelf of a refrigerator. A storing part(50) stores the initial weight of the foods stored in the shelf. A display part(60) displays the remaining quantity compared to the initial weight of the stored food. A control part(40) controls to detect the current weight of the stored food and to display the remaining quantity compared to the initial weight of the stored food calculated based on the detected current weight.
