PURPOSE: A synthetic resin composition containing a silver powder, its preparation method and its use as a food container are provided, to obtain a far infrared ray emitting effect, an antibacterial effect and a deodorizing effect. CONSTITUTION: The synthetic resin composition comprises 90-95 wt% of a resin; and 5-10 wt% of a silver powder having a particle size of 5-10 micrometers. Preferably the resin is selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, and an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin. The method comprises the steps of mixing the silver powder with the resin to prepare a first matured mixture; and melting the mixture at a temperature of 180-230 deg.C.
