PURPOSE: An apparatus for processing OSD(On Screen Display) bitmap data is provided to non-linearly or linearly process the OSD bitmap data using a simple logic gate. CONSTITUTION: An S/W(Software) processing unit(1) non-linearly processes OSD data to be displayed on a screen. A linear processing unit(3) converts a format of inputted main image data. A temporal storing unit(7) stores the OSD data from the S/W processing unit(1) and the converted image data from the linear processing unit(3). An OSD data processing unit(6) reads the OSD data stored in the temporal storing unit(7) by a control unit(4), processes the read OSD data to be capable of OSD, and outputs the processed OSD data. If the OSD data outputted from the OSD data processing unit(6) and the stored main image are synchronized and transmitted, a non-linear processing unit(5) non-linearly processes the OSD data and the main image and outputs the OSD data and the main image to be displayed on the screen. |
