PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new dyeing agent having fastness to repeated shampooing and gentle to hair fibers. SOLUTION: This dyeing composition contains at least one ortho- orα-dialdehyde compound and at least one sulfur compound and used for a keratinous fiber, especially the keratinous fiber such as hair in a suitable medium for the dyeing.
