PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for conveying a flat article such as a standing pouch, which prevent a decrease in operating ratio due to a deterioration in of a component by reducing the number of the components to the utmost without the structural sophistication of the conveying equipment, and which enable a reduction in the noise of a driving source. SOLUTION: A carrying-in conveyor 11 for the standing pouch (the flat article) P is provided; a high-speed jump conveyor 12 whose conveying speed is higher than that of the conveyor 11 is arranged in the downstream position of the conveyor 11 in the same direction as the conveyor 11; a carrying-out conveyor 13 is arranged in the downstream position of the conveyor 12 in a direction orthogonal to the conveyor 12 in a state wherein a step is provided so that the conveyor 13 can be lower than the conveyor 12 by a prescribed height; and a positioning plate 14 for locking the standing pouch P, which is thrown down from the conveyor 12, in a fixed position, is annexed in the position, facing the conveyor 12, of the conveyor 13.
