PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a multifilament with high fineness uniformity without any process troubles including yarn breakage and single filament running out using a plasticizer-containing cellulose ester composition having a specific structure. SOLUTION: The cellulose ester composition comprises a cellulose ester I containing a structure of the general formula (1) in the side chain, an oligomer and/or a polymer II having the structure of the general formula (1) and a plasticizer III. The method for producing the multifilament comprises spinning the cellulose ester composition at a melt temperature of 180-240°C and winding the melt-spun filament at a spinning speed of 300-1,500 m/min.
