PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To issue tickets as far as possible even when any part other than a ticket issuing part breaks down without causing system-down as a whole. SOLUTION: This automatic ticket issuing machine for issuing a boarding ticket available to a station selected by an account key under conditions that a sum of money suitable for a boarding fee to the selected station is inputted to the main body of the automatic ticket issuing machine is provided with: a failure detecting means for detecting the failure of the main body of the automatic ticket issuing machine; and a destination station fare adjustment ticket issuing means for issuing a destination station fare adjustment ticket which enables entry from the station where the main body of the automatic ticket issuing machine is installed, and can be made a fare adjustment original ticket at the destination station when the failure detected by the failure detecting means is the one other than the failure of the ticket issuing part and the predetermined account key is depressed.
