PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method of metallic coating material for achieving both of the reduction of production cost owing to enhancement of transfer efficiency of coating material and the improvement of finish quality of coated surface by drastically changing the coating condition between a first time coating and a second time coating in place of the conventional double coating method aiming at thick coating. SOLUTION: In the coating method of metallic coating material, the first time coating is performed on a first stage 31 and the second time coating is performed over the first time coating on a second stage 32. On the second stage 32 as compared to the first stage 31, at least two of the quantity of shaping air in a coating gun, the distance between the coating gun and the coated surface, and the bell rotation speed of the coating gun are increased. On the first stage, the transfer efficiency of coating material is regarded as important and, on the second stage, the coating quality is regarded as important. As a result, both of the enhancement of the transfer efficiency of coating material and the improvement of the coating quality can be achieved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
