PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a borer for performing boring work by relatively small operation force. SOLUTION: This borer has a base member 42 having a cap holding part 48 with a receiving hole 48a for movably holding a vessel cap C in the horizontal direction, an operation member 44 rotatably arranged in this base member 42 and having a hole boring projection part 60 insertable into and extractable from the receiving hole 48a and a cap positioning member 46 arranged under this operation member 44, placed on the base member 42 and positioning the vessel cap C on the cap holding part 48.
