PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly decrease degradation in flatness and tilt of a polygon mirror with respect to temperature changes even when heat from a motor is transmitted to the polygon mirror. SOLUTION: The center hole 5a of the polygon mirror 5 is fitted to a rotating body 4 made of a metal and energized to rotate together with the rotor 31 of a motor 3, and the inner circumference of the polygon mirror 5 is held and fixed by the mount 41 of the rotating body 4 and by a presser ring 9 fitted and fixed to the rotating body 4. The rotating body 4 and the presser ring 9 form a heat transfer route to transmit the heat from the motor 3. The heating area given by the rotating body 4 and the presser ring 9 to the polygon mirror 5 is made almost equal in the upper face side and in the lower face side of the polygon mirror 5.
