<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine, which can further improve fuel consumption performance of the internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The control device of the internal combustion engine is applied to the internal combustion engine that has a first intake valve 22a and a second intake valve 22b, which are provided in a combustion chamber 16, and a first air inlet passage 20a and a second air inlet passage 20b, which are opened and closed separately by the first and second intake valves 22a, 22b. The control device executes such control that the second air inlet passage 20b is kept in a shut-off condition of the inlet air flow and the second intake valve 22b is placed in an opened condition for a predetermined time period in a compression stroke of the internal combustion engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
