PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically advantageously obtain a material for a heat-shrinkable film by effectively utilizing a raw material regenerated from a container made of polyethylene terephthalate. SOLUTION: The material for the heat-shrinkable film comprises a polyester resin obtained by mixing under heat (A) a regenerated resin originating from the container made of polyethylene terephthalate with (B) a non-crystalline polyester resin. The material for the heat-shrinkable film may comprise a polyester resin obtained by mixing under heat (A) the regenerated resin originating from the container made of polyethylene terephthalate, (B) the non-crystalline polyester resin and (C) (C1) a transesterification catalyst and/or (C2) at least one component selected from a diol component and a dicarboxylic acid component.
