PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a discharged sheet from being fed back to a discharge system even when a discharge roller pair counterrotated by the initialize operation of a feed roller. SOLUTION: The system has a discharge roller pair 23 driven to rotate by a driver shared with a feed roller and counterrotated in the initialize operation of the feed roller, and a sheet member 4 placed downstream of the discharge roller pair 23 along the sheet discharge direction and extending outward to stop a nip portion 27 of the discharge roller pair 23 so that the end part of the sheet touches the outer surface of one roller 26 of the discharge roller pair 23. When the discharge roller pair 23 is counterrotated during the initialize operation of the feed roller, even if the back side end of a discharged sheet touches the outer surface of one roller 26 of the discharge roller pair 23, the sheet member 24 prevents the sheet from entering the nip portion 27.
