PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorptive object easily manufactured and preventive in the infiltration of water without deteriorating sound absorptive performance while contributing to resource saving and environment conservation. SOLUTION: The sound absorptive object 1 has a sound absorbing material 2 composed of reproduced polyester fibers and a covering material 3 which is composed of the nonwoven fabrics of the polyester fibers and in which a sound absorbing surface 31 has water repellency, and the sound absorptive objects 1 are introduced into perforated plates 4 and formed as a sound absorbing panel 5. Round holes 32 each having a diameter of 1.5 to 3 mm at pitches of approximately 3 to 6 mm are bored at the covering material 3, and warpings 33 of the holes 32 are projected to the sound absorbing surface 31 side of the covering material 3.
