<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely control the speed and the displacement of a movable element by driving intermittently an ultrasonic motor. <P>SOLUTION: A method for controlling the speed and the displacement of the movable element driven by the ultrasonic motor includes steps of: deciding the wave number of a drive wave by a wave number deciding unit 102 based on the displacement target value of the movable element 120 driven by the ultrasonic motor 110; generating a drive pattern by a drive pattern generating unit 104 by inserting the interval decided in response to the speed target value set by a speed setter 103 at least at each one period of the drive wave to be applied to the ultrasonic motor; and supplying the drive wave of the ultrasonic motor having a predetermined frequency generated by a drive waveform generating unit 11 at each predetermined interval by the wave number decided by a wave number deciding unit based on this drive pattern to the ultrasonic motor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
