PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed constant filter element to which a desired filter characteristic is set without incurring a remarkable increase in the thickness. SOLUTION: The filter element is provided with: a planar spiral coil 2 formed by a circulated linear conductor, to one end of which an input terminal is connected, and to the other end of which an output terminal is connected; a planar grounding electrode 10 placed in parallel with the spiral coil 2 via a dielectric layer 3 made of a nonmagnetic material at least at one side of the spiral coil 2 and connected to a grounding terminal; a magnetic body 9 located at part of a magnetic path formed around the spiral coil 2; and a planar auxiliary conductor 4 placed in parallel with and close to at least part of the regions of the spiral coil 2.
