PEPTIDE HAVING INHIBITORY ACTIVITY AGAINST PRODUCTION OF INFLAMMATORY CYTOKINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a peptide which has inhibitory action on production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF (tumor necrosis factor), IL-6 (interleukin 6), or the like, and is orally administrable and the peptide which is useful for producing an oral or enteral nutrient also having an alleviating action on inflammatory reactions. SOLUTION: Ultrafiltration (UF) permeates of protease hydrolyzates ofβ-lactoglobulin (β-Lg),α-lactoalbumin (α-La) and bovine lactoferrin (Lf) are found to have inhibitory action on LPS (lipopolysaccharide)-inducing TNF-αproduction or IL-6 production.
