The invention relates to devices for the pressing of a tympan (01) to a cylinder (02) of a printing machine, by means of first (31) and second pressing elements (32), separated from each other in the circumferential direction of the cylinder and methods for tightening or slackening such a tympan, whereby a part amount of said first pressing elements (31) and a part amount of said second pressing elements (32) may be adjusted towards or away from the cylinder independently of each other. The pressing elements are preferably arranged on a first and a second support, whereby both supports are connected to each other, the pressing elements however, being independently operated by means of adjusters.
